July 8, 2020

Alexa Saavedra, Strategic Communications Coordinator

The Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, Texas Beef Council, St. Philip’s College, and Les Dames de Escoffier Dallas Chapter will host the 17th Annual Culinary Educators Training Conference (CETC) virtually July 14-17, 2020. CETC is an intensive culinary arts training that provides educators with the necessary culinary skills needed to navigate the culinary environment while aiming to expose instructors to training that will inspire and deliver creative ideas that can be incorporated into their classrooms. Training sessions include Foundations of Restaurant Management, Cake Decorating, Food Trends, Navigating the Virtual World and How to Teach Cooking Virtually.

In conjunction with CETC, the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, St. Philip’s College, and the Texas Beef Council will host the Back to Basics Boot Camp July 13, 2020. The camp provides self-paced virtual sessions that serve as refresher courses for existing culinary educators. It also provides rudimentary instruction for participants that are new to their role as a culinary educator or the industry.

During the CETC and Back to Basics Boot Camp, participants can expect to experience lab time with industry experts, learn the latest culinary trends and network with peers and industry professionals. Event production has been made possible with the support of Lawton Family of Restaurants who graciously donated funds to cover the event costs for food production and learning supplies. Their pledge to donate $10,000 will ensure SPC does not incur any costs in hosting the event over the next three years.
